Terms and Conditions Governing Participation in the Schweppes Competition


The following terms and conditions apply exclusively to the aforementioned Competition:

  1. Co-promoters

This Promotional Competition (“Competition”) is co-promoted by Coca-Cola Africa and Mr D Food (collectively the “Promoters”): Each Party shall be solely responsible for the administration of their respective roles in respect of the Promotional Competition and warrants that in so doing, it shall comply with all applicable provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008. Mr D Food will be responsible for coordinating the draw to select the presumptive winners and for the verification of each winner’s personal details (so that they may be confirmed as a winner), prior to delivery of the prize and obtaining a winner’s consent to share such information with Coca-Cola Africa.

  1. Competition Period

The Competition shall commence at 08h00 (Central African Time) on 7 March 2022 and end at 22h00 (Central African Time) on 3 April 2022 (the “Duration”).

  1. Who Can Enter

  1. The Competition is open to (i) natural persons who are at least 18 years old residing in South Africa and who are in possession of a valid form of identification (South African Identity Document or Passport); (ii) who have a valid Mr D Food account; and (iii) it being lawful for such persons to be awarded the particular prize. Persons MAY NOT participate if they are a minor, employee, director, member, partner, agent or consultant of the Promoters, or any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by either Promoter and/or immediate family members of any of the above persons, its advertising agencies, advisers, dealers, suppliers and Bottlers of beverages identified by the trademarks owned by or licensed to Coca-Cola Africa, its affiliates and/or associated companies or any persons who have won a prize in a competition run by Coca-Cola Africa in the past 6 (six) months.

  1. By entering the Competition, all participants and the winners agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. The Promoters reserve the right at any time, without notice, to amend, modify, or change these rules and any prizes, and to postpone, suspend or cancel this Competition and any prizes, or any aspect thereof, without notice at any time, for any reason which is beyond the Promoters’ reasonable control.

  1. The Competition is only valid within South Africa. Participants must be within South Africa at the time of entering the Competition, for the verification process and at the time the prizes are awarded should they be declared a winner, failing which such person will be disqualified and the draw of a replacement entry shall take place under the same terms and conditions as the first draw.

  1. The Prize

  1. The Participants stand a chance to win 1 (one) of 6(six) steel drinks trolleys, 4 (four) Schweppes® branded drinking glasses and 24 (twenty-four) 200ml cans of Schweppes®' product. The prize is valued at R11,800 (eleven thousand and eight hundred rands). The specification of the trolley, drinking glasses and the flavours and variants of the Schweppes® product will be at the sole discretion of Coca-Cola Africa. There will only be 6 (six) winners for this Competition.

  1. The prize is not transferable and may not be exchanged for cash or any other item.

  1. How To Enter

  1. To enter this Competition, participants will be required to log in to their Mr D Food account via the Mr D Food App, AND complete in full at least one purchase of any ‘Schweppes®’ beverage item via the Mr D Food App.

  1. Participants may enter the Competition subject to the following:

  1. All entries must be made by a natural person on the Mr D Food App.

  1. If any entry was made in a manner that provides the participant with an unfair advantage over other entrants, such a participant will be disqualified from this Competition.

  2. Participants may enter this Competition as many times as they like provided they complete the entry mechanics set out above each time. However, participants are only eligible for 1 (one) Prize under this Competition.

  1. Winner

  1. All entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges who will short-list the valid entries. Mr D Food will run an audited random draw on the valid entries to select the winners. The aforesaid draw will take place within five (5) working days after the end of the Competition.

  1. The winners will be notified via email, to their registered Mr D Food account email address, by Mr D Food within five (5) working days after the conclusion of the draw. In order for the particular entries to be confirmed as valid, the winners will be required to provide their proof of identification, including their full name, contact number, e-mail address and address (collectively “Participation Information”), to deliver the Prize. Mr D Food will further request consent from the winner to share the Participation Information with the third-party contractors it engages to manage the execution of its obligations in terms of this Competition, and Coca-Cola Africa for delivery of the prize.

  1. Once the winners have been verified and the winners have provided their consent for Mr D Food to provide their Participation Information to Coca-Cola Africa for delivery of the Prize, Coca-Cola Africa will then communicate with the winners via email regarding when, where (i.e. within the Republic of South Africa) and how they will receive their prize. The winners will receive their Prize within 14 (fourteen) working days from being notified by Mr D Food as per paragraph 6.2 above

  1. Once the winners have received the Prize, the Promoters will not take responsibility for any service malfunction or defect. Ownership of and risk in and benefit attached to the Prize will pass on to the winner immediately.

  1. The prize winner is obligated to behave responsibly and comply with the terms and conditions and all reasonable requests of the Promoters and their agents.

  1. Disqualification Of Winner

If either Promoter (as the case may be) is unable to reach a winner after 48 (forty-eight) hours from the date of the winner being notified that they have won the prize, or if a winner fails the verification process after drawing his/her entry, or does not consent to the sharing of their Participation Information with Coca-Cola or the third party engaged by Coca-Cola Africa to effect delivery for whatsoever reason, such person will be disqualified and a draw for a replacement entry and winner will take place.

  1. Use Of Participant and Winner Information

  1. All participants and the winners, as the case may be, indemnify the Promoters, their advertising agencies, advisers, nominated agents, partners, suppliers and Bottlers of beverages identified by the trademarks owned by or licensed to the Promoters, their affiliates and/or associated companies against any and all claims of any nature whatsoever arising out of and/or from their participation in any way howsoever in this Competition (including, as a result of any act or omission, whether as a result of negligence, misrepresentation, misconduct or otherwise on the part of the Promoters and/or receipt of the Prizes and/or use of the Prizes).

  1. The Promoters may require the winners to be identified, photographed and published in printed media, or appear on radio and television when accepting the Prize or after having received the Prize, but the winners will be entitled to decline to do so.

  1. By entering the Competition, the participants agree that their personal information may be shared with third-party service providers engaged by the Promoters for the execution of compliance with the Consumer Protection Act requirements and to affect the delivery of the Prize. Such personal information will be used only to the extent that it is necessary for administering this Competition and in accordance with the provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013. The participants further agree that Coca-Cola Africa and its affiliates (including subsidiaries, Bottlers, and joint ventures) may contact the participants via email and through social media platforms to deliver marketing communications regarding their products and promotional activities, subject to the provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013. Coca-Cola Africa may also use the personal information collected from the participants as described in the Privacy Policy accessible at www.coca-cola.co.za and that such use may include transfers to Coca-Cola Africa’s affiliates and third-party service providers in any country.

  1. The Promoters may require the winners to complete and submit an information disclosure agreement and indemnification to enable the Promoters to ensure compliance with these terms and conditions as well as the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. Should any winner refuse or be unable to comply with this clause for any reason, such a winner will be deemed to have rejected the Prize and it shall revert back to Coca-Cola Africa.

  1. By posting any content, experiences, images on any social media platform, in relation to this Competition and its associated promotional activities, participants consent and give Coca-Cola Africa a worldwide, royalty-free and non-exclusive license, to reproduce, modify, adapt and publish any content posted and/or submitted by a participant on a social media platform, for the purposes of promoting the products and services of Coca-Cola Africa.

9. Unforeseen events



In the event of unforeseen circumstances or causes beyond the Promoters’ reasonable control, the Promoters reserve the right to cancel this Competition (before entries are received), to change the number or nature of the prize at any time (on notice to you), or to change the rules at our discretion (provided that we will not change the conditions for participation or conditions for being awarded the prize, as stated herein).
