Terms and Conditions Governing Participation in the Magic Weekend



The following terms and conditions apply exclusively to the aforementioned Competition:

  1. Co-promoters

This Promotional Competition (“Competition”) is co-promoted by Coca-Cola Africa and Mr D Food (collectively the “Promoters”).

  1. Competition Period

The Competition shall commence at 08h00 on 31  May 2022 and ends at 22h00 on 26 June 2022 (the “Competition Period”).

  1. Who Can Enter

  1. The Competition is open to: (i) natural persons who are at least 18 years old residing in South Africa and who are in possession of a valid form of identification (South African Identity Document or Passport); (ii) who have a valid Mr D Food account; and (iii) it being lawful for such persons to be awarded the particular prize. Persons ARE NOT ALLOWED to participate in this Competition if they are a minor, employee, director, member, partner, agent or consultant of the Promoters, or any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by either Promoter and/or immediate family members of any of the above persons, its advertising agencies, advisers, dealers, suppliers identified by the trademarks owned by or licensed to Mr D Food, its affiliates and/or associated companies or any persons who have won a prize in a competition run by Mr D Food in the past 6 (six) months.

  1. By entering the Competition, all participants and the winners agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. The Promoters reserve the right at any time, without notice, to amend, modify, or change these rules and any prizes, and to postpone, suspend or cancel this Competition and any prizes, or any aspect thereof, without notice at any time, for any reason which is beyond the Promoters’ reasonable control.

  1. The Competition is only valid within South Africa. Participants must be within South Africa at the time of entering the Competition, for the verification process and at the time the prizes are awarded should they be declared a winner, failing which such person will be disqualified and the draw of a replacement entry shall take place under the same terms and conditions as the first draw.

  1. The Prizes

  1. The participants stand a chance to win a R1000 (one thousand rands) Mr D Food voucher and a hamper valued at R650 (six hundred and fifty rands) (the “Prize”). The hamper consists of 1 (one) Coca-Cola branded t-shirt, 1 (one) Coca-Cola branded cropped hoodies and 1(one) Coca- Cola branded earphones. The Mr D Food voucher must be used to purchase food on the Mr D Food App, with an order cap of R250 per order. The voucher code must be supplied at checkout

in order to be valid when placing a food order on the Mr D Food App. The voucher may not be shared with another person or account and is valid for 6 months from the date of issue.

  1. The prizes under this Competition are not transferable and may not be exchanged for cash or any other item.

  1. In order to receive the Prize, participants must ensure that their Facebook and Twitter direct messaging is activated and respond to the initial contact for information by Mr D Food within 3 days.

  1. How To Enter

  1. To enter this Competition, participants must visit Mr D Food’s Facebook or Twitter page and comment or tweet their reply to Magic Weekend question of the day posted on the Mr D Food Facebook and Twitter pages using #Magicmoments, during the Competition Period. Every week, during the Competition Period, Mr D Food will select two winners, one on Facebook and one on Twitter, who replied with the correct answer, by means of random selection. One winner will be selected from each platform, every week during the Competition Period.

  1. A participant will be able to enter this Competition multiple times both on Facebook and Twitter.

  1. During the Competition Period, Mr D Food will announce via its Facebook and Twitter pages that winners have been selected.

  1. Participants may enter the Competition subject to the following:

  1. All entries must be made by a natural person to the social media pages as indicated above.

  2. If any entry was made in a manner which provides the participant with an unfair advantage over other entrants, such a participant will be disqualified from this Competition.

  3. Participants may enter this Competition as many times as they like provided they complete the entry mechanics set out above each time. However, participants are only eligible to stand a chance to win 1 (one) of the Prizes.

  4. Participants must ensure that their Direct Messaging function on their Facebook and Twitter social media accounts is activated.

  1. The Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administrated by, or associated with Facebook or Twitter. Participants voluntarily provide their information to the Promoters and not to Facebook or Twitter however the participants are required to take note of the following:

  1. As this Competition requires participants to comment/post anything in relation to the relevant Facebook or Twitter social platforms, participants’ comments/posts must be original and written by them. For the purposes of these terms and conditions, “comment/post” includes but is not limited to, any written material or visual or audio material such as an image, a photograph, a sound or visual clip. Participants may not use someone else’s post or work as their post. Participants may not comment/post material that is derogatory or harmful to the Promoters or the social platforms.

  2. Participants may not misuse the social media platforms, or the Coca-Cola® brand or the Mr D Food brand or Competition in any way. This includes posting content for commercial purposes or distributing spam or malicious code.

  3. Posts must not contain any content that is normally prohibited on the relevant social platforms such as explicit or offensive content.

  4. The Promoters have the absolute discretion to decide if a participant’s action constitute any of the actions prohibited in terms of these terms and conditions and to end their participation in the Competition immediately and take appropriate legal action. The Promoters may also immediately remove any posts that they reasonably believe constitute any prohibited content without notice to the participant.

  5. Participants must be aware of the Facebook and Twitter privacy policies and rules of use.

  6. The Promoters are not responsible for the social media platforms. The Promoters cannot control how they operate, when or if they are available, or what content they carry. Even though the

Promoters run the Competition on the site, the Promoters do not endorse the social media platforms, the owners of these social media platforms, products, or services or any content on the social media platforms. Participants use the social media platforms at their own risk. Participants must take all necessary measures to protect themselves, from risks, such as viruses and other destructive code.

  1. The Promoters can put in place such technical or other remedies it considers appropriate to prevent abuse, or to protect any sites or its systems or other users.

  2. If any Participant does not comply with these terms and conditions, their posts can be deleted, and they will not be allowed to access the social media pages of the Promoters or take part in the Competition.

  3. By posting any content, experiences, images on any social media platform, in relation to this Competition and its associated promotional activities, participants consent and give the Promoters a world-wide, royalty free and non-exclusive license, to reproduce, modify, adapt and publish any content posted and/or submitted by a participant on a social media platform, for the purposes of promoting the products and services of the Promoters.

  1. Winners

  1. Mr D Food will run an audited random draw at the end of each week during the Competition Period from the qualifying entries submitted during the Competition Period to select the winners who have taken the steps set out in section 5 above and who are in compliance with these terms and conditions. The Prize winners will be announced via the Mr D Food Facebook and Twitter social media pages at the end of the Competition Period. Mr D Food will, at the end of each draw, contact the winners via direct messaging on the winners’ Facebook and Twitter social media account to request the winner’s name, surname, email address, date of birth and telephone number (“Participant Information’’). Mr D Food will make two direct attempts to obtain such information and if the winner does not respond with such Participant Information, Mr D Food will select another winner. Once this information is received and validated, representatives of Mr D Food will deliver the voucher prize via a Direct Message on the winner’s Facebook or Twitter Social Media account (depending on the social media platform that the winner used to enter into the Competition) and deliver the hamper to the winner’s address based on communication between the winner and Mr D Food, once the Participant Information has been verified, subject to section 9 below. Proof of identity may be required in order to validate the winner. The Promoters’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the application of these terms and conditions, the selection of a winner, and the Prize.

  1. Once the winner has received the prize, the Promoters will not take responsibility for any product malfunction or defect. Ownership of and risk in and benefit attached to the prize will pass on to the winner immediately.

  1. A winner is obligated to behave responsibly and comply with these terms and conditions and all reasonable requests of the Promoters and their agents.

  1. Disqualification Of Winner

There are certain situations in which a winner will be disqualified from receipt of his/her Prize, namely: (i) he/ she did not activate the direct messaging function on their Facebook or Twitter account (ii) he/she fails to provide Participant Information when requested by Mr D Food for the second time; (iii) he/she is found to have contravened any other rule set out herein; (iv) in anticipation of delivery of the prize, he/she refuses to or cannot provide reasonably sufficient documentation to verify his/her identity; or (v) he/ she does not consent to the sharing of their Participant Information with Mr D Food    or their    agents,    to effect their obligations in terms of this Competition. In the event of disqualification of a particular winner, Mr D Food will be entitled in its sole discretion to select another winner from amongst the qualifying entries submitted.

  1. Use of Participant and Winner Information

  1. All participants and the winners, as the case may be, indemnify the Promoters, their advertising agencies, advisers, nominated agents, partners, suppliers and Bottlers of beverages identified by the trademarks owned by or licensed to The Coca-Cola Company, its affiliates and/or associated companies against any and all claims of any nature whatsoever arising out of and/or from their participation in any way howsoever in this Competition (including, as a result of any act or omission, whether as a result of negligence, misrepresentation, misconduct or otherwise on the part of the Promoters and/or receipt of the prizes and/or use of the prizes).

  1. The Promoters may require the winners to be identified, photographed and published in printed media, or to appear on radio and television, when accepting their prizes or after having received their prizes, but each winner will be entitled to decline to do so.

  1. By entering the Competition, the participants agree that their personal information may be shared between the Promoters, and third-party service providers engaged by the Promoters for the execution of compliance with the Consumer Protection Act requirements and to effect the delivery of the Prize. Such personal information will be used only to the extent that it is necessary for administering this Competition and in accordance with the provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (“POPI Act”) and Mr D Food’s privacy policy found at

The Promoters may require a winner to complete and submit an information disclosure agreement and indemnification to enable the Promoters to ensure compliance with these terms and conditions as well as the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. Should any winner refuse or be unable to comply with this clause for any reason, such a winner will be deemed to have rejected the prize and Mr D Food will be entitled in its sole discretion to select another winner from amongst the Qualifying Entries submitted.

  1. By posting any content, experiences, images on any social media platform, in relation to this Competition and its associated promotional activities, participants consent and give the Promoters a world-wide, royalty free and non-exclusive license, to reproduce, modify, adapt and publish any content posted and/or submitted by a participant on a social media platform, for the purposes of promoting the products and services of the Promoters.

  1. Unforeseen events

In the event of unforeseen circumstances or causes beyond the Promoters’ reasonable control, the Promoters reserve the right to cancel this Competition (before entries are received), to change the number or nature of the prize at any time (on notice to you), or to change the rules at our discretion (provided that we will not change the conditions for participation or conditions for being awarded the prize, as stated herein).
