Coca-Cola Real Magic Competition Terms & Conditions



The following terms and conditions apply exclusively to the aforementioned Competition:


1.   Co-promoters

This Promotional Competition (“Competition”) is co-promoted by Coca-Cola Africa and Mr D Food (collectively the “Promoters”). Each Party shall be solely responsible for the administration of their respective roles in respect of the Promotional Competition and warrants that in so doing, it shall comply with all applicable provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008.


2.   Competition Period  

The Competition shall commence at 14h00 (South African time) on 24 November 2021 and end at 22h00 (South African time) on 14 December 2021 (the “Competition Period”).


3.   Who Can Enter:

3.1.        The Competition is open to (i) natural persons who are at least 18 years old residing in South Africa and who are in possession of a valid form of identification (South African Identity Document or Passport); (ii) who have a valid Mr D Food account; and (iii) it being lawful for such persons to be awarded the particular prize. Persons ARE NOT ALLOWED to participate in this Competition if they are a minor, employee, director, member, partner, agent or consultant of the Promoters, or any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by either Promoter and/or immediate family members of any of the above persons, its advertising agencies, advisers, dealers, suppliers and Bottlers of beverages identified by the trademarks owned by or licensed to The Coca-Cola Company, its affiliates and/or associated companies or any persons who have won a prize in a competition run by Coca-Cola Africa in the past 6 (six) months.

3.2.        By entering the Competition, all participants and the winners agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. The Promoters reserve the right at any time, without notice, to amend, modify, or change these terms and conditions and any prizes, and to postpone, suspend or cancel this Competition and any prizes, or any aspect thereof, without notice at any time, for any reason which is beyond the Promoters’ reasonable control.

3.3.        The Competition is only valid within South Africa.  Participants must be within South Africa at the time of entering the Competition, for the verification process and at the time the prizes are awarded should they be declared a winner, failing which such person will be disqualified and the draw of a replacement winner shall take place under the same terms and conditions as the first draw.


4.   The Prize:

4.1.        The Participants stand a chance to win one (1) of 20 (twenty) Coca-Cola merchandise bundles consisting of 1 (one) anaglyph T-shirt, 1 (one) pair of wireless earphones and 1 (one) Coca-Cola branded hoodie.

4.2.        Five winners will be selected at random on each of the Draw Dates below and announced for the prizes on the following dates: 29 November 2021, 6 December 2021, 13 December 2021 and 15 December 2021 (“Draw Dates”). Winners will be selected from the Qualifying Entries submitted during the week preceding 24 November 2021, 29 November 2021 and 13 December 2021 with a further random draw taking place on 15 December 2021 from the Qualifying Entries submitted during the week of 13 December 2021. Five winners will be chosen per week with a total of 20 winners over the Competition Period. The Prize is not transferable and may not be exchanged for cash or any other item.


5.   How To Enter:         

5.1.      To enter this Competition, a participant must, during the Competition Period, log in to their Mr D Food account via the Mr D Food App, AND find the two emojis (a hug emoji and a drink emoji) in the App which are linked to the clue Mr D Food shares with its followers on the Mr D Food Social Media pages - Facebook: @MrDFood, Twitter:@mrdfood and Instagram: @mrdfood. Once the participant has found the answer emojis, the participant must screenshot the section of the App where the emojis are located, with the emojis being visible as they appear on the App, and email this screenshot to the following Mr D Food email address:  (“Qualifying Entry”). Each Qualifying Entry submitted in a particular week during the Competition Period will be entered into the weekly draw to stand a chance to win a weekly prize. A participant will only be able to enter this Competition once. The winners of the prizes will be announced on the Draw Dates indicated at section 4.2 above.



5.2.        Participants may enter the Competition subject to the following:


          i.         All entries must be made by a natural person to the Mr D Food email address indicated.

         ii.      If any entry was made in a manner that provides the participant with an unfair advantage over other entrants, such a participant will be disqualified from this Competition.

        iii.         Participants may only enter this Competition once.


6.        Winner

6.1.        Mr D Food will run audited random draws from the Qualifying Entries submitted on the Draw Dates, to select the winners who have taken the steps set out in section 3 above and who are in compliance with these terms and conditions. The Prize winners will be announced on the Draw Dates via the Mr D Food social media platforms on 29 November 2021, 6 December 2021, 13 December, and 15 December 2021. Mr D will contact the winner telephonically on the contact number registered on the Mr D Food customer profile to request the winner’s name, surname, email address, ID number, delivery address and telephone number (“Participant Information’’). Mr D Food will make two direct attempts to obtain such information. Once this information is received and validated, representatives of Mr D Food will deliver the prizes to the winners’ residence on a date that will be arranged by the winner and Mr D Food representative, subject to section 9 below. Proof of identity and residence will be required in order to validate the winner. The Promoters’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the application of these terms and conditions, the selection of a winner, and the prize.

6.2.       Once the winner has received the prize, the Promoters will not take responsibility for any service malfunction or defect.  Ownership of and risk in and benefit attached to the prize will pass on to the winner immediately.        

6.3.        The prize winner is obligated to behave responsibly and comply with the terms and conditions and all reasonable requests of the Promoters and their agents. 


7.   Disqualification of Winner:


There are certain situations in which a winner will be disqualified from receipt of his/her prize, namely: (i) he/she fails to provide Participant Information when requested by Mr D Food for the second time; (ii) he/she is found to have contravened any other rule set out herein; or (iii) in anticipation of the delivery of the prize, he/she refuses to or cannot provide reasonably sufficient documentation to verify his/her identity; (iv) he/ she does not consent to the sharing of their Participant Information with the Promoters, their agents, contractors and the third party engaged by the Promoters to affect their obligations in terms of this Competition. In the event of disqualification of a particular winner, Mr D Food will be entitled in its sole discretion to select another winner from amongst the Qualifying Entries submitted or to not award the Prize in which case the Prize shall be returned to Coca-Cola Africa.


8.   Use of Participant and Winner Information

8.1.     All participants and the winner, as the case may be, indemnify the Promoters, their advertising agencies, affiliates, advisers, nominated agents, partners, suppliers and Bottlers of beverages identified by the trademarks owned by or licensed to the Promoters, their affiliates and/or associated companies against any and all claims of any nature whatsoever arising out of and/or from their participation in any way howsoever in this Competition (including, as a result of any act or omission, whether as a result of negligence, misrepresentation, misconduct or otherwise on the part of the Promoters and/or receipt of the prizes and/or use of the prizes).

8.2.        The Promoters may require the winner to be identified, photographed, and published in printed media, or to appear on radio and television, when accepting the prize or after having received the prize, but the winner will be entitled to decline to do so.

8.3.        By entering the Competition, the participants agree that their personal information may be shared with the Promoters, and third-party service providers engaged by the Promoters for the execution of compliance with the Consumer Protection Act requirements and to affect the delivery of the prize. Such personal information will be used only to the extent that it is necessary for administering this Competition and in accordance with the provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (“POPI Act”).

8.4.        The Promoters may require the winner to complete and submit an information disclosure agreement and indemnification to enable the Promoters to ensure compliance with these terms and conditions as well as the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. Should any winner refuse or be unable to comply with this clause for any reason, such a winner will be deemed to have rejected the prize and Mr D Food will be entitled in its sole discretion to select another winner from amongst the Qualifying Entries submitted or to not award the Prize, in which case the Prize shall revert back to Coca-Cola Africa.

8.5.     By posting any content, experiences, images on any social media platform, in relation to this Competition and its associated promotional activities, participants consent and give the Promoters a worldwide, royalty-free and non-exclusive license, to reproduce, modify, adapt, and publish any content posted and/or submitted by a participant on a social media platform, for the purposes of promoting the products and services of the Promoters. 


9.   Unforeseen events


In the event of unforeseen circumstances or causes beyond the Promoters’ reasonable control, the Promoters reserve the right to cancel this Competition (before entries are received), to change the number or nature of the prize at any time (on notice to you), or to change the rules at our discretion (provided that we will not change the conditions for participation or conditions for being awarded the prize, as stated herein).
